OH MY GOD I AM SO FRUSTRATED.

Journal Entry: Fri Jun 22, 2012, 4:57 PM
Fuck EVERYTHING.

AUGH!

So I got this laptop from my mom's friend in Egypt with all kinds of amazing programs that I've wanted forever and it was awesome for like, a month, and now it keeps on shutting off for no reason in the middle of me doing things. So I'll be trying to draw something, or type something, or google something, and it'll shut off and kill all the work I've done, and then take forever to restart. With no reason. It was so bad yesterday that it was shutting itself off every ten minutes.

And today, this new tablet I got for my birthday, suddenly stopped working. Its a new Bamboo tablet, which I thought was a safe bet since its what I had before, but its a piece of shit. My old one wouldn't work on this new piece of shit computer because it was too new for it, so I had to get a new tablet to go with it so I could keep drawing.

But all my old stuff was SO MUCH BETTER. And half the goddamn price.

This tablet won't recognize its pen anymore, and no one online has a solution, this computer keeps shutting itself off, and so I can't draw anything, or write anything, or even watch like, a youtube video without something happening to ruin it. I've been trying to ink the same scene in COTW21 for three hours now, and the computer shut off at least five times, so I keep having to start over, and then when I finally thought I was getting somewhere, the tablet stopped recognizing the pen.

What the FUCK. I never EVER had these kind of technical issues with my old stuff. Pencil crashed sometimes, but never the computer or the fucking tablet for Christ's sake.

I don't know what to do.

My mom took my old computer because her's stopped working, so this one is all I have but it doesn't work like, at all.

alskjfasff.

this is a problem because I WANT TO DRAW THINGS AND ANIMATE THINGS AND WRITE STORIES AND GO ON YOUTUBE BECAUSE THAT'S KIND OF MY LIFE. aslkdfjasdfasdf.

And we don't have money for a new computer.

uuunggg.

Kinda confusing but you could always attempt to Duel-Boot your computer with a second operating system.
I have it done to mine.
Try installing your tablet onto that, may work, specially since wacom can be used on both Mac and PC. Also may rid yourself of the shutting down problems.
If not it might be something with your laptops ability to hold a charge, or does it shut off when it's plugged in o_o Or even the battery in generl may be wonky.

Only thing is you'd need to get the programs for windows if the tablet only worked on windows.
> < it's an idea, if your computer has a big enough hard-drive.

I know I'm about 3 days late, but I have the solution for the tablet pen recognition issue ^^"

I don't know if this only works for Bamboo but this is what I do:

-I go to the start menu and type in Bamboo (or whatever your tablet's name is)
-I click on Bamboo Preference File Utility and click Remove
-After that my tablet recognizes my pen ^^

I hope this helps ^^"

D: I'm so sorry then, if that fails, I usually pick it up and drop it on my desk, which I guess isn't the best thing for the tablet, but it works from time to time ^^"

Did you try to install drivers from the official Bamboo site? [link]
Your laptop could have a virus OR be overheating. Try putting it on an icepack and see if that helps.
(Yes I actually have to use an ice pack for certain programs on my laptop) XD

That happened to my tablet, so it wouldn't recognize the pen. I solved it by downloading the driver again. So I had to do it twice but hey it fixed it!

Sorry about that. I don't know what to recommend for the laptop.

Do you still have that gift card for ebay from KOTW or was that all used for your camera? If not, I'd try to find a decent laptop on there.

You could never get a decent laptop for 500 dollars even if I had all of that money left O.o'' It would probably just be worse than this piece of shit I have. And I only have 150 left of that anyhow.

If that's the case then the whole tribbleofdoom thing is out of commission. My mom needs my old computer for her job, and all of my money is going to my tuition for university, so I can't afford a computer if this thing doesn't up its game.

The tablet is a problem many have with bamboo and others. If it's use of a windows pc it can be about what driver pack you are using. If it's a windows 7 or Vista for the matter it can often be that you have to take "service pack 2 windows XP " but if it's the pen it's more of a problem with the product so you can send/call or go to where you buy'd the tablet (if not internett) and they should give a new.

For the laptop it may be a virus. I first thought of overheating with the fan, but it should not overheat after 10 min. My old pc was around 7 years old before it died on me with the same. I don't know how old the one you got now then. but mostly it can be some kind of virus that is hard to detect without a good virus scanner.

As you don't really state if it's a mac or windows pc you got i just took what i know from Windows then. I'm not sure when it comes to Mac as i never had problem with it.

If you really want programs that is to expensive maybe do as many others does and just download them ? ok, i got the mac with all the adobe programs from school, but on the windows pc i got many nice programs from Thepiratebay.org

Its a mac, and they don't really make virus protection for them.

And if I got a new computer, I would totally just say "fuck it" and pirate them, but I have this computer. And I can't get another one. So the problem still stands.

Ahh i see. send it in for fixing maybe ? I know that you got it from another person and all that, but i think you can still send it in for repair. They don't delete programs(as far as i know).

Can see that one. Hope things works out for you =)

Have you tried AVAST? I'm pretty sure that usually works for Macs since it sounds like the computer is having a virus issue. :/

I've had both of those problems before but I don't really know how the shutting off one would work on a new mac... cuz this is quite an old comp it kept shutting off until the technician came out and literally just dusted the insides of the computer and it worked again.

And my tablet kept failing on me when I first got it, as soon as I installed updates from the Wacom site it worked fine most of the time...

When my tablet stops reconizing my pen, what I do is go to my computer and then find my tablet file and double click it and a popup comes up saying 'This will replace your current preferences' then I click replace, and my tablet reconizes the pen again. I have a pc so I don't know if this will work for you, but maybe it will. Anyway, best of luck on your problem

My old laptop started shutting down constantly, being super slow, reminding me about security 24/7, and blocking all the little websites I go to (those really long and specific URLs).
Eventually, I just beat it to death.
(threw on the floor, stepped on)
Now, it still kind of works, but only the left half of the screen.
BUT NOW I have an awesome new laptop that is 90% perfect :la:

If it's new, can't you just send it in to wacom? My Bamboo Pen had a 1 year limited warrenty, so if it is new, you could probably sent it in to get fixed for free or maybe even relaced. Sorry about the labtop ;u; (I personally use a desktop).

I have the tablet issue sometimes, but I just restart my laptop and it's fine for months after, but like someone said uninstalling and reinstalling could be the trick.

as for the laptop well, it could be the fan like some people said or it could be over heating, which is a problem with my laptop so I got it some feet that now lift it off the table/desk and it's perfectly fine now. or it could be the mother board. my dad had the same problem with his laptop where it would just completely shut down and if it's the mother board...well....you can replace it, but what we found out was, that when you replace it, you have the same problem. 'cause it's not the mother board that's the problem, but the laptop. what ended up happening for us was we just continued to use the stupid thing til the day it couldn't turn on anymore and then just got a new laptop.

hope you can figure out what the issue is and I hope it's not the mother board o.O otherwise that would really suck 'cause there's really nothing you can do about it.

I've never had a laptop do that, but my old computer used to- the fan had to much dust in it, we had to get it professionally cleaned until I learned to do it with cutips. Might not be the solution but it should be something to look into, also, laptops only last about 2 years then start gradually breaking down, how old is it?

For the computer: I used to have one that would shut off randomly too. It might be because the bottom is over heating. Try propping it up with something like a pen so the bottom isn't pressed against the desk.

With my tablet, idk if this will work, but I had a problem where the pen WOULD NOT move when I reached for the bottom left corner, I just uninstalled the software and re-installed it :o dunno if that would work. it would start acting up whenever I shut the computer down and forgot to unplug it before I did.
Unplug tablet THEN shut down... Lesson of the day...
That could be it because if you're drawing and it shuts down while the tablet is still plugged in... that could be whats causing it to schmuck up

Good news and bad news.

Bad news: Unfortunately, my old computer used to do the exact same thing. The solution? There was none. One day it just wouldn't turn on anymore. I had to get a new one.

Good news: I had a similar problem with my tablet as well. It turned out that the cable was faulty, and I just found a similar cable that belonged to a camera and completely fixed it.
