She Chapter 1 - BeachedChapter 1

Pain.  Incredible pain.  It made her head feel like it was about to implode.  Groaning she and moved slightly and was greeted by the dull hiss of wet sand beneath her aching face.  Suddenly she realized she was wet all over.  She slowly became aware of the salty taste in her mouth, the crusty coat of dirt and sand she felt all over her body, and the calm, soothing lap of water on her cheek.
She opened her eyes in tiny slits, then immediately closed them.  The harsh sunlight stung, along with the salt water.  She opened them again, and blinked.  As she did so a strong current of water washed over her face and got into her nose.

Prologue

It was dark, the cold all-engulfing.  A thin sheet of frost covered the dark green foliage and caused it to shimmer in the pale moonlight.  A heavy boot came down and smashed a delicate mint plant on the forest's floor.  Green capes swished in the darkness, their usually deep green fabric dyed silver and black by the moonlight.  Hushed voices, tone and volume tempered by fear, blended with the soft melody of wind in the trees.
A tall oak tree groaned as someone tripped over its root and fell face first into the bed of pine needles on the frost hardened ground.  Whoever lay inside the obscuring clothing wiped muddied hands

I don't think that he looks like Jayfeather. I think that he just looks like Torrie.

He looks like Jayfeather in the way that Jayfeather looks like Silverstream: they don’t actually look that much alike in your mental picture, but they are both silver/gray tabbies with blue eyes. And anyway, as I was saying with Tribble, their personalities are very much alike.

He is a gray tabby with blue eyes, he is very grumpy and angsty, he has a not-so-smart brother, but he’s nice deep down.

He's not angsty! He's just a dick. Torrie isn't an emokid like Jayfeather! Hating everything because you're just an asshole and hating everything 'cause your blind and it legitimately sucks is different. Psshhh! And you can't tell me you're going to compare Lionblaze to Vimmy :P C'mon. That's a stretch.

Well, yeah a bit. But I mean, Vimy and Lionblaze spend so much energy mooning over a she cat, and then when the she cat doesn’t react the way they want they get all annoyed and depressed. And you sort of get the feeling that Jayfeather would be so much like Crowfeather even if he wasn’t blind that he would still be a bit of a cynacist and a grump, though maybe not so angsty. Jayfeather has more of a reason to be that way, but you can tell that if some other cat had been born in the situation he was in they might take it better (think of white-eye. She had her eye torn out by a badger, but remained ever the optimist. And even Briarlight began to be more of an optimist after her depressed spell).

Anyway, you can’t deny the similarity in looks between Jay and Torrie.

I didn't read far enough to ever meet Briarlight and White-eye but I'll assume you're right :P
