"What! Alari, no!" Bone cried, puffing out his fur, "Midnight take back your dare, don't make her go!"
"Shut up, Bone," snarled Midnight, never breaking eye contact with Alari. The two young she-wolves were both standing in tall, dominant postures, staring down their rival evenly. Bone glanced between the two nervously, "Then go, Alari. And don't come back unless you break a piece of it off to prove you really went."
"No problem," hissed Alari through her teeth, turning around and trotting down the hill towards the man-made thing. Bone loped after her, his long legs carrying him effortlessly faster than hers.

Sometimes I Lose ThingsSometimes I lose things.

Sometimes it's little things.

Things like my ipod or my keys.

Bobby pins and chapsticks often evanesce without warning or cause.

Sometimes I lose bigger things.

Things like my favorite sweater or my school bag.

Things like the reason I came into a room,

Or the memories of what I had for breakfast that morning.

Sometimes I lose my train of thought, or the point I was trying to make or an idea.

Sometimes I lose arguments.

Sometimes I lose friends.

I like to think all the things I lose go to the same place.

Pounding Head And there was that pounding in his head again – beating in his ears like a snare drum keeping the time for the army as lines of cadets marched in the rain, black leather boots crushing puddles to cobblestone and splashing water up like a miniature tsunami. A tsunami which would rise up and swell from the ocean, grabbing at the buildings and pulling them down greedily. Greedy the way the tax man ripped the poor man's home away, leaving him depressed and alone and beaten. Beaten the way the blond woman curled up on her bathroom floor with bruises on her face and arms was by her husband, the husband she can't leave
